この英語版は2002年に武蔵野美術大学出版局から発行された「日本画ー表現と技法」の抄訳となりますが、基礎的な日本画の描き方や膠、胡粉、顔料などの古典的技法などが詳しく書かれている貴重な英語版となります。私はこの英語版のディレクションに少し携わり、あとがきも書いています。

Painting on Silk

 Once completely dry, turn the silk stretcher frame over and apply color to the entire verso evenly with a hake brush(hiranuri, 平塗り)
